Admission to DSPSR is through the IPU CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted annually by GGSIPU. The process has 6 steps: (1) Register at ipu.admissions.nic.in, (2) Appear for IPU CET, (3) Check your CET rank, (4) Register for centralised counselling and choose DSPSR as your first preference, (5) Pay the admission fee after seat allotment, (6) Report to DSPSR campus for document verification.

The fee structure is set and approved by GGSIPU, making it equivalent to other top IPU colleges. DSPSR additionally offers merit-based scholarships ranging from 25% to 100% tuition fee waiver, which can significantly reduce your effective cost. IPU CET cut-off ranks for DSPSR vary every year based on the number of applicants, category reservations, and seat availability. Historically, DSPSR has accommodated students across a wide CET rank range — including students with mid-level ranks — through multiple counselling rounds. We recommend registering for counselling regardless of your rank and selecting DSPSR as your first preference. Do not give up after Round 1 — Round 2 and Spot Rounds have yielded many successful admissions.

For internal (merit) seats — which form the bulk of available seats — the IPU CET is mandatory. However, a limited number of external / management quota seats may be available where the CET may not be compulsory. External seat availability varies each year and is subject to GGSIPU notification. Contact the admissions office early to check if external seats are open for your preferred programme in 2026–27.
